Sensex loses over 100pts, Nifty in red; TCS down 1%, Cipla up 2% == 13 Oct 2016

                                 
The market has opened lower after two days of holiday. The Sensex is down 107.86 points or 0.4 percent at 27974.48, and the Nifty is down 37.85 points or 0.4 percent at 8670.95. About 259 shares have advanced, 245 shares declined, and 54 shares are unchanged.

Cipla, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, ONGC and Dr Reddy's Labs are top gainers while TCS, Tata Motors, M&M, Bharti and Reliance are losers in the Sensex. 

The Indian rupee slipped in the early trade. It has opened lower by 30 paise at 66.83 per dollar versus 66.53 Monday.

The 30-share index was trading 240 points higher or 0.86 per cent at 27,842. It touched a high of 28,42.62 and a low of 27,815.32 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,638 down 70 points or 0.80 per cent. It touched a high of 8,681.55 and a low of 8,626.60 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was down 0.59 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.45 per cent lower. 

Cipla (up 2.5 per cent), InfosysBSE 1.03 % (up 0.8 per cent), ONGC (up 0.4 per cent), and Asian Paints (up 0.2 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers. 

ICICI Bank (down 1.8 per cent), RIL (1.7 per cent), HDFC (down 1.7 per cent), GAIL India (down 1.5 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 1.4 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
